Survey of Investigative Psychology Alumni, June 2001
Oliver Eastman, University of Kent at Canterbury

introduction | the survey |
1:prior qualifications
2:job(s) after the course
3:the course
4:investigative psychology

The survey was divided into four parts, surveying respondents: qualifications prior to the course, career path after the course, opinions regarding the course, and general views of Investigative Psychology. The present study highlights the general trends found in this survey.

The survey was sent to all alumni of the MSc in Investigative Psychology from the academic years 1992/3 to 1999/2000. Of the 128 alumni that were contacted, there were responses from 25
(14 male, 11 female; mean age: 28.9).

Although this was a low response rate it does cover a wide range of years of the course and variety of people, although a high proportion are currently in academic contexts. It therefore needs to be taken into account that these responses cover a course that may have changed considerably since the respondent completed it.
