Applications for the MSc. Currently there are over one hundred applications a year for about thirty places. In order to attract people with appropriate detective police experience they are given special priority. This means that places for people without that experience are very competitive indeed. Thus such applicants are required to have a very good undergraduate degree and some extra experience that distinguishes them. Selection is not done by computer but by human beings attempting to choose people who will contribute to the development of this exciting new application of psychology. Normally applications are reviewed as they arrive and promising applicants called for interview. On the day of interview current students are usually available to give their views of the course and to answer questions about their experiences. The interview day usually starts with a general meeting at which the details of the course are summarised and is then followed by one or more interviews with individual members of staff. People are usually informed of the result of the interview within ten days. |
