What is the relationship between CIP and investigative services?

The Centre for Investigative Psychology has nursed extensive links with police forces, prisons, probation services and other agencies that deal with offenders around the world. These provide the basis of some of our research activities, as well as providing a stream of visiting speakers who talk about their work, notably in the investigation of crimes. Some of these organisations also use their contacts as an opportunity to seek out people in relation to job opportunities that they have within their organisation (we are currently organising an area of our website to enable prospective employers to advertise job opportunities). For example we have a number of senior Detectives from the Metropolitan police force, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire and Lancashire who lecture on the course and, who, in some circumstances may be able to provide students with project data. This must of course be agreed through the course Director.
