Offender Profiling

The term 'offender profiling' was first regularly used by members of the FBI'sBehaviour Science Unit to describe the process of drawing inferences about a suspect's characteristics from the details of his or her actions in a crime. Popular media portrayals of profilers have caught the imagination of the general public and have spurred a parallel interest in their real-life counterparts.
