Conference Speakers back to speakers ![]() Professor Helinä Häkkänen Professor Helinä Häkkänen works as a research fellow for the Academy of Finland at the National Bureau of Investigation, Finland. She is also the group leader of the criminal and forensic psychology research group at the Department of Psychology, University of Helsinki. She has published several articles on offender profiling and violent crime in such journals as the Legal and Criminological Psychology, Journal of Forensic Psychiatry and Psychology, Forensic Science International and the Journal of Investigative Psychology and Offender Profiling. She has specialised in homicide, stalking, arson and rape with reference to offender profiling and classification of crime. Past and currently she has assisted the Finnish police in several arson and homicide investigations and lectured on offender profiling within the university and the police administration. Currently she is leading several studies on diagnostic offender profiling, psychopathy, critical incident decision making and risk assessment, geographical profiling, recidivism and investigative interview. back to speakers |
